During our visit to Lisbon, we chose Hotel Ibis, as my brother holds membership of "Accor".
If you’re planning a trip to Lisbon with friends or family, finding a hotel with triple rooms can be tricky.
Out of the three Ibis hotels in Lisbon, the one near the main tourist attractions did not offer triple rooms. Since requesting an extra bed isn’t really an option in Lisbon, I ended up booking two different Ibis hotels near Marquês de Pombal—both of which had triple rooms available.
Price Comparison
| Hotel | Stay Duration | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Ibis Styles Lisboa Centro Liberdade NE | 2 nights, 3 days | € 393.55 |
| Ibis Styles Lisboa Centro Marquês de Pombal | 2 nights, 3 days | € 411.60 |
Although the price difference was small, the Liberdade NE was slightly cheaper.
Ibis Styles Lisboa Centro Liberdade NE
Layout
Ibis Styles Liberdade NE had a practical design with one double bed and one single bed side by side.
There was enough space near the entrance for shoes and luggage, and a large mirror and a shelf made it easy to get ready in the morning.
Bathroom
The bathroom had a window for natural ventilation, as there wasn't any ventilator. In the shower booth, the splash guard wasn't big enough, which I don't like. But in most hotels, the splash guard is only half size all the time! Designers! Is there any reason you make water splash out?
Overall, I found the layout to be fine.
View
From the room, I could look down at the streets of Lisbon. In the evening, the warm orange lights created a beautiful atmosphere, and in the morning everything felt calm and quiet. It brought back old memories of the Europe I love.
Breakfast
Breakfast was similar to other Ibis hotels or the Mercure in Porto, but they tried to provide enough variety. It wasn't bad but if I visit again, I won't include breakfast.
Ibis Styles Lisboa Centro Marquês de Pombal
Ibis styles Marques de Pombal felt a little more polished at the front desk. They had several elevators, but each was quite small, making it difficult to fit three people with three lugguages.
Layout
Bathroom
Unfortunately, in the bathroom there was no window or ventilation fan at all, which made the bathroom feel stuffy.
This shower booth had a proper door that completely prevented water from splashing out—finally, YES!
View
Unlike Liberdade NE, this room was facing a major road, so the view wasn’t very appealing. It was a pity that I couldn’t enjoy the European street view.
Breakfast
Breakfast here was the weakest among the three hotels I stayed at during this trip. The atmosphere was cafeteria-like, with limited food options. Guests had to return the dishes with the tray, just like in a school canteen. (Breakfast Buffet is 12 Euro per person.)
Travel Tip: Don’t Forget a Filter
For both hotels, I used a portable filter, and it turned noticeably dark after just a couple of days
Unlike in some South Asian countries, the filter didn’t get extremely dirty, but it’s still better to carry one when you travel.
Final Thoughts
Between the two, I preferred Ibis Styles Lisboa Centro Liberdade NE. It had a cozier atmosphere, better ventilation, and a nicer view.
If you’re searching for a triple room in Lisbon, Ibis Styles Lisboa Centro Liberdade NE would be my recommendation.
